Coimbatore: Following a complaint about a prostitution gang targeting youth and businessmen in Coimbatore, the Coimbatore Metropolitan Police yesterdayrescued five northern girls who had been detained for prostitution during a raid on massage centers.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore North police have rescued five North Indian girls who were detained for prostitution during a raid on massage parlors yesterdayfollowing a complaint about a gang of money launderers targeting young businessmen and businessmen.
There were widespread complaints of prostitution through massage parlors and spas in various parts of Coimbatore. Following this, Saibaba Colony police conducted an action check at The Magical Spa massage center on NSR Road last evening. Then it was revealed that young women were kept there for prostitution.
It was also revealed that the men who came for the massage showed the young women and told them that any woman could choose the woman they wanted and then allowed them to have fun with them. Subsequently, Mohammad Hashim, 32, of Kuniyamuthur, who was running a massage center, and Mustan, 42, of Ilango, Avarampalayam were arrested.
Police also rescued two women from Assam and a woman from Coimbatore who were staying there for prostitution. The women were subsequently sent to the archive. Also, police confiscated Rs 2,240 in cash and cellphones that were there.
Similarly, the RS Puram police conducted a raid on a massage center operating at the Navarathina Hotel on TV Sami Road. Then, it was revealed that the girls there were for prostitution. Subsequently, Hariharasuthan (30) from Ratnapura and Rajaprabhu (30) from Kambam area in Theni district were arrested for running the massage center. Also, two Northern State women who were there were rescued and sent to the archive.
