Ayyasamy, 82, of Palaniappan Road, Pollachi, has two sons. In this condition, two months ago Ayyasamy's second son contracted the Coronavirus and died tragically. Ayyasamy had been suffering from depression for the past few days.
Yesterday, frustrated by his son’s death he decided to commit suicide. He became unconscious after drinking cow dung powder he had at home. Shocked, his family rescued and rushed him to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. There he died tragically. Pollachi East police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
