Coimbatore: Coronaviruspatients are being treated near the intensive care unit of the government hospital in Valparai. Relatives of the patients sat on the road and protested that the patients were not being provided proper food.

The Government Arts College was started a few months ago as a coronavirus treatment center as a corona prevention measure in Valparai area of Coimbatore district. More than 30 people were initially treated there. At present, less than ten corona patients are being treated at government colleges as corona infections are on the decline.

Due to lack of oxygen facility at the Coronavirus treatment center, it is customary to take the patients to the Corona treatment center in Pollachi and Coimbatore in case of breathing issues. However, oxygen ward is currently being set up near the intensive care unit at Valparai Government Hospital.

Patients are admitted there and treated for coronavirus. While the public is unaware that there are corona patients here, patients come to the hospital because the hospital has no prior information. Children and adults come to the intensive care unit.

Relatives of the patient told the hospital that the coronavirus epidemic had spread to those who came to the hospital as the medical staff treating the coronavirus patients had gone to the intensive care units and that the patients who were currently being treated for coronavirus at the government hospital were probably only given food for the last four days and were not provided with food on other days. Thus they sat on the road and engaged in a struggle.

Police inspector Maheshwari negotiated and persuaded them to drop the protest. In addition, the public has demanded that the treatment of coronavirus patients near the intensive care unit should be notified to the public and that the coronavirus treatment ward should be changed.
