Bail plea of 2,440 kg ration rice hoarder dismissed.


Food safety officers raided a vehicle on the Ukkadam-Selvapuram bypass road on the 6th of last month. Vinodkumar, 38, who went by bike, was known to have carried ration rice in a sack.

When he was interrogated, it was revealed that 2,440 kg of ration rice was hoarded and smuggled to Kerala. Vinodkumar was arrested and imprisoned. A petition filed by Vinod Kumar in the Coimbatore District Sessions Court seeking release on bail was dismissed.
