Woman arrested for illegal possession of cannabis in Valparai


Coimbatore: Valparai police arrested a woman for being in illegal possession of 1.350 kg of cannabis and Rs. 71,390 in cash.

Das' wife Muthulakshmi (32) of Kamaraj Nagar, Valparai in Coimbatore had set up a new shed on Government land, a short distance from the house. Following a complaint that was made to the Revenue Department, Tahsildhar Raja, Villahe Administrative Officer Vijay Amritaraj and Valparai Police Inspector Maheswari inspected the land. An inspection of the interior of the house revealed that cannabis had been stocked up for sale.



Following this, Inspector Maheshwari searched the entire house and confiscated 1.350 kg of cannabis from the cache and also Rs. 71,390 from the illegal sale of cannabis. After the inquiry, Muthulakshmi was produced in court and sent to jail.
