170 industry associations come forward to help MSMEs in India: AICA


Coimbatore: All India Council of Association of MSMEs (AICA) today announced that 170 industry associations have joined together to address post COVID issues faced by 2 lakhs MSMEs across India.

MSMEs in India add to approximately 30% of the overall employment generated in India. These MSMEs add approximately 30% of the overall GDP of the country. The pandemic has affected every industry in the country and MSMEs are hit the most due to frequent lockdowns. From manpower to raw material prices have been posing challenges to their existence.

Speaking on the joint effort of All India Council of Associations of MSMEs, said, “We have been working on combining these associations under one umbrella since the first lockdown was imposed by the Government of India. We have been able to combine 170 industry associations under one umbrella across Pan India. We have started the consultations with every association and we are soon planning to highlight the challenges faced by different sectoral MSMEs. We will be sharing the draft recommendations with the concerned Ministries to look into the low points and address the issues.”

The core team members include M.V. Ramesh Babu, President, CODISSIA and R. Ramamurthy, Immediate Past President, CODISSIA, Dr. Yogesh Pawar, Chairman, ARISE and Mohan Antrukar, Director, ARISE, K.V. Karthik, President, SIEMA, S. Balraj, Chairman, F-Coimbatore Chapter, C. Balasubramanian, President, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Coimbatore.
