Police on search hunt for man who killed wife over suspicions of illegal affair in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Coimbatore: A man allegedly beat his wife to death with a cricket bat near Coimbatore on Friday. The police have registered a case and are looking for the husband who has absconded.
Kumar (A) Lavendran (49) lives in 3rd street, Gandhima Nagar area next to Coimbatore Ganapathy. He has been living with his wife Kavita (32) and sons Bhupathi and Joshua for the past six months with the family. Kumar Lavendran is in the business of demolishing old buildings. Kavita used to work in a spinning mill near her house.
Kavita is already married and has a son named Bhupathi. She has been living with her first son for the past 12 years, marrying Sri Lankan refugee Kumar (alias) Lavendran. The husband and wife had a dispute because Kavita was often talking to friends on her cell phone. It is said that Kavita got angry and left the house last week and went to her friend's house. Kavita and Lavendran, who came home last evening, got into a fight again. Kumar (A) Lavendran, who was angry after the argument, hit Kavita with a cricket bat and broke her skull and died on the spot.
Following this, Kumar (A) Lavendran fled from there on his two-wheeler. Soundarajan, the son of Kavita's uncle, who lived next door, ran and saw this. But when he saw that his sister Kavita was dead, he immediately informed the Saravanampatti police station. Police rushed to the spot, seized the body and sent it to a government hospital for autopsy. Soundarajan, the son of Kavita's uncle, lodged a complaint. Saravanampatti police have registered a case and are looking for Lavendran who beat his wife to death.
