Public besiege Ooty Government hospital as those with tokens for vaccines were asked to leave as vaccines went out of stock

The Nilgiris: More than hundred people besieged the hospital and argued with staff as only 40 of the 100 people who were given tokens at the Ooty Government General Hospital were vaccinated with the 2nd dose today and the rest of the people standing in line were told that vaccines were out of stock.

Tokens have been issued to 100 people who came to the Ooty Government General Hospital in the Nilgiris to be vaccinated. The public got into an argument with the medical staff as only 40 of the tokens issued were vaccinated and the rest were told to leave.

They also accused the government hospital staff of not giving a proper answer when asked about this.

Upon information doctors said they were unable to vaccinate everyone with the token today because they had to send the vaccines to the primary health center as well. They assured token recipients that they will be vaccinated again tomorrow. The public then dispersed.
