Weavers from Kinathukadavu demand to hold medical camp in the area

Coimbatore: Families of handloom weaver families live more than 30 villages in Pollachi including Negamam, Kullakkapalayam, Kattampatti, Jalathur and Cheripalayam.

Due to the spread of coronavirus infection, the weaving industry was paralyzed and working families faced poverty. Workers' livelihoods have been affected for the past two months with no looms. As everyone is being vaccinated, weavers living 5 - 10 km in in the surrounding areas have no bus transport and are unable to vaccinate.

Hence they have been demanding for camps to be set up in weavers' co-operative societies and for all families of weavers to be vaccinated.
