TiE Coimbatore donates four oxygen concentrators to various hospitals in Coimbatore


Coimbatore: The ongoing pandemic has levelled all claims to money and fame, and fostered in the masses a sense of unity to defeat the pandemic.

The collective strength of many who work as one is clearly seen in TiE Coimbatore which has been at the forefront of efforts to ease the effect of the pandemic. It has initiated a donation drive for four oxygen concentrators for various hospitals in Coimbatore through the efforts of the chapter President, Ranjana Singhal.

Charter Members Srinivas Rao, P Nataraj, Gokul Raj, Sriram Sankar and Mahalingam R also contributed to TiE Coimbatore. Jayaram Govindarajan who helped identify the right concentrator, Devika Ramesh who connected the Chapter to the right vendor, G Karthikeyan who backed with financial advice and other members who offered huge moral support, made this donation drive a collective effort. Ranjana Singhal ensured that she handed over the concentrators to the various hospitals in person.

At ESI Hospital, the Dean and Dr. Suganthi received two oxygen concentrators and expressed their profound gratitude to the Charter Members.



One oxygen concentrator was given to GH Madukkarai and received by Dr. Madhumati, and one to the Primary Health Center on Nanjappa Road was received by Dr.Shobana.



Charter Member Rakesh Kumar donated 10,000 3-ply masks for the use of sanitation workers. He personally handed over the masks to the Corporation Commissioner, in the hope that the masks would help the hardworking frontline workers.



TiE Coimbatore has also launched an innovative movement to drive mask consciousness, with the catchy slogan, 'Mask On Economy On.' The movement has resulted in a widely-shared video and posters with Charter Members speaking about their positive affirmations for their customers, clients and themselves. Sentiments ranged from wanting to get their business back on its feet, to employees regaining their incomes and customers kick-starting their businesses. The collective hope is for the economy and the country to move forward.

Charter Members have contributed in cash and kind to fight the pandemic. Ranjana Singhal, President TiE Coimbatore said, "This initiative has only been possible with the constant support of all our members. With the pandemic creating havoc, this was a small contribution from our side. Our members contributed wholeheartedly and I was able to facilitate the donation drive.”

TiE Coimbatore, the 56th chapter in TiE network, is also one of the youngest. The second TiE chapter in Tamil Nadu, after TiE Chennai was founded by leading industrialists across sectors. TiE Coimbatore aims at supporting entrepreneurs in Coimbatore region to become global leaders and nurturing an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. TiE Coimbatore is at the helm to help the society at large and all its members.
