A doctor and a medical officer from Tirupur corporation limit who works on COVID duty said he had received threats over phone call from a AIADMK functionary who asked him to reserve jabs for his acquaintances.

The conversation between Paramaraj, the ADMK functionary from Palladam near Tirupur between the doctor have been accessed by Simplicity.

In the audio which has been crosschecked, the functionary can be heard saying that ADMK will create problem if the doctor fails to reserve jabs for him. The functionary also heard spoken that he had received order from CHO of Tirupur for reserving jabs. However, when the doctor asked for proof that the CHO had said the same, the functionary couldn’t produce it.

“We have been working on Covid duty tirelessly since the pandemic outbreak and though the government call it as frontline workers we didn’t get much relief from them” said the doctor in the audio between them.

Replying to the doctor, the functionary said ADMK has brought in more vaccinations during their period.

However, after multiple attempts made by the functionary to get jabs, the doctor said he gives the priority to who come to the vaccination sites and not to who threatens over phone.

The audio between them ended up with the AIADMK man say that he will take up this issue to the party he represents and create problems.

Doctor, however, replied to him to do so and added all the parties are creating problems to doctors.

When the doctor said he would raise complaints to health officials, the functionary heard saying to him to complain even to DMK, the ruling party.

The matter has been sent to health officials in Tirupur but it has not been addressed yet.
