The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris bought left tea manufacturer’s association stressed on the importance of providing new opportunities for new entrepreneurs wanting to enter into the field of tea factories in Nilgiris.

The association members have also urged the union government to lift ban on new tea factories in Nilgiris, which was brought to action in 2019.

Speaking about this, the association members said “the tea board India passed an order in 2019 banning new manufacturing units in Nilgiris and this affects the new entrepreneurs now.

We urge the central government to lift ban on this and provide timely relief to us. We have addressed the issue since then to the government but no action has been taken on it so far”.

Being one of the main resources in Nilgiris, the tea cultivation activities has been affected with the board receiving order that license and NOC could only be given to tea manufacturers that come under north India.

The association members say that such order has shocked them that it has come in a way that central government provides licenses in a partial way.

Sources also say that despite many attempts they will still continue to urge the government to lift ban until their requirements met.
