'It is true that Coimbatore district has been neglected within a month of the DMK rule:' BJP Vice-President, Annamalai

Coimbatore: BJP State Vice-President Annamalai distributed 'Modi kits' containing groceries, including rice to the public in the Ponnaiyarajapuram area of Coimbatore.

Later, while addressing the media, Annamalai stated that political parties began to complain about vaccination drives in Tamil Nadu in the months of January and February, adding that two months of due vaccinations were wasted due to the election and vaccines in Tamil Nadu continue to be wasted, despite a drop of cases from 17 percent to 5 percent.

'The Central Government will set aside vaccines in seven days depending on how much a state has been vaccinated, how much has been wasted, and how many Covid-19 cases have been reported. Tamil Nadu has been receiving more vaccines since the outbreak of the pandemic and 43 lakh vaccines are to be given this month. BJP legislators have been urging the Central Government in this regard and they will distribute the vaccines directly from July 21. Coimbatore must not be discriminated against, for we are a district that is rich in the industrial sector,' stated Annamalai.

He also opined that with Coimbatore experiencing the highest number of deaths in the last three days, more vaccinations ought to be administered in Coimbatore, which has been faltering for a month and a half. The late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu during 2006-2010, Karunanidhi, used the term Central Government but the DMK government has now started a new term, the Union Government. This kind of talk is unnecessary, and the Finance and Health ministers are often talking on irrelevant subjects. Is the DMK implying that what Karunanidhi had termed in 2006 to 2010 is wrong or if M K Stalin knows the law and the constitution better and Karunanidhi did not know. I see this as distracting,' added Karunanidhi.

The BJP State Vice-President, Annamalai also said, 'It is true that Coimbatore has been neglected for the last one month since the DMK came into power. Now they are being vaccinated and only vaguely monitored. M K Stalin is Chief Minister, but does he really have control over his ministry? When the Chief Minister is talking of working in harmony with the Central Government, the Finance Minister is talking about PTR and GST council which is contradictory. This will affect the people of Tamil Nadu and we are forced to change this situation as soon as possible,' he added.
