Coimbatore: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) fuelled a public outcry to ban licenses of high-fee hospitals and also demand a refund for those who have been fleeced by such hospitals in Coimbatore during the pandemic period.

Commenting on the existing scenario, Ashok Srinithi, PMK functionary said, “Our aim is to get money back to the affected people from the hospitals which charged high rates for Covid-19 treatment. After losing a lot of money for medical treatment in private hospitals, and receiving and coordinating complaints from various affected people who have also suffered such casualties, PMK has been under constant pressure and met the District Collector and Associate Director (Medical and Village Health Service) twice.

Thereafter, the District Collector on Monday constituted a committee of four persons. Our purpose is not only to ensure banning licenses of high-paying hospitals. Our aim is to get the money back to the affected people. Therefore, the struggle will continue until a good solution is found."
