Coimbatore: Corporates and trade bodies from Coimbatore are pitching in with various measures to help control the pandemic effect. Today, the ICCI, Cancer Foundation, PRICOL, and Messer Cutting Systems India jointly started a good initiative to clean the GH.
Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Coimbatore, President, C. Balasubramanian in a press release has said, "We from the Industry and Trade segment of Coimbatore salute the front line warriors - doctors, nurses, administrative officials, sanitary workers, NGOs etc who are tirelessly fighting this dreaded virus.
The ICCIC, Coimbatore Cancer Foundation and the CSR arms of PRICOL and Messer Cutting Systems India Pvt. Limited have come together to tackle an equally challenging problem arising out of COVID - inadequate sanitation and the resultant toll on hygiene - caused by the huge numbers of patients being admitted into the GH every day. We hear from patients who got discharged from our Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) as well as from the general public that even though the doctors and nurses are undertaking super human efforts to help those affected by the virus, sanitation is not upto the expected standards."
"While the CMCH administration is concentrating on attending to the patients and their treatment, maintenance of restrooms and the wards have been put on the back burner due to inadequate number of staff to take care of the same.We have therefore offered to assist in the area of sanitation as a unique contribution - the 'CLEAN GH drive'. We have offered to handle the cleaning of the entry point of CMCH, the Covid admission area, zero delay area, Covid ward and the Covid ward wash rooms.
A well experienced housekeeping service provider has been engaged to handle this essentially needed area at CMCH, for a month as an experimental basis and to be continued after evaluation. We have kick started this unique project from today and we are certain that this will reduce the burden of the Government on sanitation to a greater extent."
