Five more arrested for stealing bottles of liquor at Tasmac store in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Five more people have been arrested for stealing bottles of liquor from a Tasmac store near Coimbatore. The Tasmac store is located at KK Palayam near Annur. On the 26th, unidentified persons broke the lock of the shop and stole bottles of liquor worth Rs 90,000.
The police registered a case following a complaint lodged by Tasmac employees. Sub-inspector Silambarasan led a team led by Inspector Venkatesh to nab the robbers who stole from the Tasmac store. Police arrested Sakthivel, a resident of Madurai, who had been working in the Pachapalayam area in Sulur for the past few days in this case.
Police were also searching for others involved in the theft. The special team of police were engaged in surveillance work in the Annur Dasampalayam unit. Then they stopped 5 people who came in 2 two-wheelers and conducted an investigation. As they responded contradictorily upon further investigation the suspects then confessed to stealing Tasmac stores in Kakapalayam during a police interrogation. Further investigations revealed that they were Vigneswaran, 24, of Alankanallur, Madurai, Akash, 22, of Deva Kanda Nallur, Thiruvarur district, Venkatesh, 29, of Tirupur, Karthik, 21, and Narayanan, 35, of Kuttaipudur in Annur. The police arrested all 5 of them.
