Coimbatore: While the state government is gearing up to help all the people to get vaccinated. Till today only 10% of the employees from the industry sectors have been vaccinated. Industrialists urge the state government to help all the employees and their families from the manufacturing sector to get vaccinated soon.

Coimbatore District Small Industries Association(CODISSIA) president, Ramesh Babu said, "We wholeheartedly welcome the state government initiative in putting vaccination to all the employees of the manufacturing sector. In Coimbatore district there are more than 5,00,000 employees working in various industries of the Manufacturing sector. This includes migrant workers also. At present till date only50,000 that is 10% of the total employees have been vaccinated.

All the industrial associations have requested the government through District Industries Centre (DIC) to ensure all the employees and their families get vaccinated at the earliest. In the recent days only employees Were are allowed to to get vaccinated and their family members were not provided the chance to get vaccines. Both the employees and their families are equally important tocontrol the ' Covid- 19' spread. We hope the government understands this and swings into action at the earliest. "

Railway suppliers Association(RASA) President, Surulivel said, "Until last week industry employees were provided with enough vaccination doses every day. Since this week, only general people are given more importance and the vaccination process for the employees of the manufacturing industry sector has been stopped temporarily. We have also submitted our request to the government through the District Industries Centre (DIC). The officials have assured that from next week the industry employees would be getting vaccinated.

At present all the peoples living has been very badly affected due to the virus spread. Industries cannot remain closed for more days. Normalcy should be returned soon. only then people would be able to earn a living. All the employees from the manufacturing industry sector should be vaccinated before the lockdown is released and hence we are trying our best to take this issue to the government's knowledge."
