Coimbatore Corporation sets up Home Triage Medical Committees to counsel and treat Covid-19 patients isolated at home


Coimbatore: In Coimbatore Corporation, those under 45 years of age seem to be suffering more due to Covid-19 infection, while those infected but with over 94 percent oxygen level in their bodies, high blood pressure and without comorbidities have been advised to stay isolated and treated at home.

In Coimbatore Corporation, Home Triage Medical Committees have been set up to provide counselling for those who do not have diabetes and comorbidities, and to seek medical treatment at home. Accordingly, two Home Triage Medical Groups per zone, and 10 Home Triage Medical Groups for five zones have been made available. One doctor and two nurses have been appointed per team.

In addition, the team has been trained to visit homes and provide counselling for treatment. Therefore, those who have contracted Covid-19 infection have been requested to take necessary medicines as advised by the above Home Triage Medical Groups and stay isolated at home, without leaving the house for any purpose.

Those who need any assistance (including medical advice) are requested to contact the control room number 0422- 2302323 which operates 24 hours a day.

The Commissioner of the Coimabtore Corporation P Kumaravel Pandian advised the public to make full use of the above facilities and fully cooperate with the Corporation which intends to soon become a Corona Infection-Free Corporation, He reiterated that this could be achieved only if the public adhered strictly to all of the Government's stipulated health guidelines.
