Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam to protest on June 4 condemning the Centre for not providing adequate Covid vaccines to Tamil Nadu: K Ramakrishnan

Coimbatore: In a press release today, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, K Ramakrishnan said, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin has been working day and night for more than 25 days to protect the people of Tamil Nadu from the coronavirus. With medical facilities, oxygen beds, and adequate quantities being developed by the Tamil Nadu government in all districts, he accused that the ruling BJP Modi government is blocking the provision of the coronavirus vaccine to all the people.

He said, "The Central Government which gives more vaccines to less populous states than Tamil Nadu is allocating lesser vaccines to Tamil Nadu which indicates a step-motherly treatment. The Central Government also prohibits Tamil Nadu from receiving vaccines directly from abroad and the United Kingdom has shut down a vaccine-manufacturing plant in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. The Government of Tamil Nadu has been delaying in granting approval for the factory or permission for the production of the Coronavirus vaccine. It also refuses to comply with the Tamil Nadu government's demand for the abolition of the GST tax on the Coronavirus vaccine."

"Modi who had initially announced that the vaccines would be provided free of cost by the Union government is now subtly hinting that the State governments should buy them. The BJP Government is snatching rights without helping the State Government which is responsible for protecting the people from the great plague. An online protest will be held by the Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam at 11 am, on Friday to condemn," slammed K Ramakrishnan.
