In a letter to Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin, CPIM Secretary of State K. Balakrishnan said, "The second wave of corona infection has badly affected Tamil Nadu. However, it is comforting to note that the government is gradually reducing the incidence of infections.

However, coronavirus infection is on the rise in Coimbatore district and the district is number one in the state. According to yesterday's government press release (26.5.2021) 4268 people have been affected by the epidemic. 35707 people are receiving treatment for infections. (Including isolators in homes and care centers).

Government Hospital in Coimbatore, ESI There are two government hospitals as a hospital. Corona infection is also being treated in some private hospitals. People with corona infections from the surrounding districts also come to Coimbatore Municipal Hospitals for treatment. In this situation, there is a shortage of oxygen beds and oxygen in the city of Coimbatore. Thus, the victims of the disease are facing great difficulties.

In this situation, oxygen bed facilities should be increased for Coimbatore district to avoid deaths. In addition, more oxygen should be supplied to the Coimbatore district.

Prompt arrangements for vaccination in areas where corona infection is most prevalent can also be used to prevent the spread of the infection to some extent.

We urge the state government to take immediate action to prevent the spread of the disease and to provide appropriate medical treatment to those affected, ”he said.
