Exemption for small entrepreneurs from paying electricity bills for three months: TACT request Tamil Nadu government

Coimbatore: In a letter of request to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, James, President of the Tamil Nadu Industrial and Micro Entrepreneurs Association (TACT) said, "Situation of small entrepreneurs who are providing employment to more people in Tamil Nadu is in a very bad state.

The second wave of coronavirus infection has pushed entrepreneurs who have been unable to recover from the effects of the first wave of coronavirus to a severe crisis. To protect micro-enterprises, electricity bills for entrepreneurs for three months from 1.4.2021 to 31.7.2021 should be completely waived and a subsidy of 50 per cent of the electricity bill for next three months."

He added, "Government should announce a separate loan scheme to protect small businesses. The government should take immediate action to take into account the annual income of small businesses and provide 25 percent of it, with a minimum interest of 5 per cent. The Tamil Nadu government should talk to the central government and give it six months to repay all the loans and take action to waive the interest."
