Inspection process completed as new Covid-19 treatment center arrives in Valparai

Raising their concerns about this, the general public and the Communist Party of India (CPI) member Arumugam have requested the government to set up a Covid-19 treatment center in the Valparai area.

Coimbatore: The second wave of Covid-19 outbreak is high in the Valparai hills of Coimbatore district. Around 125 people in Valparai have been infected with Covid-19 in the last two months, of which 10 people have died.

There are about 56 estates in the Valparai area and more than one lakh people live here. Covid-19 victims are initially taken to the Valparai Government Hospital where they receive first aid and are sent to the Pollachi or Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment.

Raising their concerns about this, the general public and the Communist Party of India (CPI) member Arumugam have requested the government to set up a Covid-19 treatment center in the Valparai area as the current increase of infections makes it more difficult to send victims to the Coimbatore ESI Hospital for treatment.

Highlighting this, today Coimbatore District Deputy Director of Health Dr Ramesh and Valparai Tahsildar Rajan, Primary Health Centre Chief Doctor Dr Babu Lakshmanan, and Village Administration Officer Vijaya Raghavan and other Government Department officials inspected the Government Arts College in Valparai and the College near the Sinkona estate in Valparai and then selected the government college in Valparai were the new Covid-19 treatment center will be set-up in s few days.
