Coimbatore: Following the heavy rain and landslide warning, the National Disaster Rescue Force has camped in the Coimbatore and Madurai districts.
The Meteorological Office has warned of heavy rains and landslides due to the low pressure area in the Arabian Sea and "Tauktee" storm.
Hence the National Disaster Rescue Force from Ranipet, Arakkonam were sent to districts in TamilNadu and Kerala which have the chances of being affected because of the cyclone. Around 2 teams each were sent to Coimbatore and Madurai districts

National Disaster Rescue Force officials said that," Theni, Dindigul, Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts in TamilNadu and, Wayanad, Malappuram,Kozhikode, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kollam aabd Idukki districts in Kerala are expected to receive heavy rainfall. Hence 260 soldiers from 13 groups are sent to these places and more soldiers will be dispatched if necessary." They said.
