Private hospitals in Tirupur who don't accept government Insurance Cards that are submitted with relevant documents will face serious action - Information Minister MP Saminathan

MP Saminathan, Minister of Information and Publicity and Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Minister of Adi Dravidar Welfare department are appointed to oversee Covid-19 measures in Tirupur district.


Tirupur: A review meeting to tackle Covid-19 impact and other prevention activities was held todayin Tirupur district at the District Collector's Office under the chairmanship of Minister of Information and Publicity MP Saminathan.

The review meeting was attended by Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Adi Dravidar Welfare Ministry and other MP's and MLA's.

Speaking to reporters after the review meeting, Information Minister Saminathan said that, " Covid-19 spread in Tirupur district is under control and full measures are being taken to eradicate it completely. Steps have been taken to increase the number of beds at government hospitals and setting up prevention centers across the district.

I sincerely appreciate the Textile industries for volunteering themselves in helping the government tackle Covid-19 by shutting down from tomorrowahead of the lockdown.

With the deaths of journalists on the rise, I will bring it to the notice of the Chief Minister regarding the relief funds that should be given to their families.

In addition, the district administration and the state government will take action in case of complaints regarding overcharging of private hospitals in Tirupur, as well as companies and hospitals which do not accept a government insurance card even while having relevant documents." He said.
