Will prosecute anyone found consuming alcohol on roadsides near Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Valparai - Forest Department

Complaints filed about tourists drinking alcohol on the roadsides in Valparai.


Coimbatore: Valparai is one of the popular tourist destinations in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu and is home to the Anamalai Tiger Reserve.

There have been complaints from the police and the forest department that tourists enjoy nature and sit on the river banks and drink alcohol which is a nuisance to the public in the areas.



Due to this, the police and the forest department officials have warned that it is a criminal offense to drink alcohol on the roadsides next to the Anamalai Tiger Reserve Area and other public places in Valparai.
