Tirupur: In the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections held on April 6 in Tirupur district, 69.49 percent votes were cast in Tirupur North, South, Dharapuram, Avinashi, Palladam, Madathukulam and Udumalai assembly constituencies.

The voting machines were stored at the LRG Women's College at Palladam Road, Tirupur amidst a tight five-tier police security which included paramilitary forces.
Those who entered the counting center were subjected to intensive checks, including adhering to strict Covid-19 protocols like wearing of face masks, sanitizing hands and following social distancing. It is to be noted that only those with Electoral Commission ID cards are allowed at the vote counting center.
