Officials of the Corporation of Coimbatore are taking various preventive measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 virus infection. As a part of it today, there are a total of 20 thousand flats in the areas under Northern Zone Ward No.41.

" There are 210 streets in this ward. Of those, the number of Covid-19 affected streets is 14. Hence the decision has been made to close down these affected areas to contain the spread.

The public can get tested at medical camps run by the corporation if there is suspicion of infection. If there are signs of infection on examination they should seek treatment at the nearest primary health centers or government hospitals.

People with mild signs of infection should isolate themselves in their homes. Also, all members of the public are requested to get themselves vaccinated.



Also, people who are infected with Covid-19 and are isolated in their homes with the disease should not leave their homes. The public should avoid leaving the house. Face masks must be worn at all times along with other guidelines like social distancing and washing hands frequently with soap. The public and residential welfare associations should provide full cooperation for activities such as vaccination." He said.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian requested the public to give their full cooperation to all the preventive measures of the Corporation to make it a Covid-19 free.



Following this, the Corporation Commissioner visited and inspected the isolated houses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the Gandhi area of the Northern Zone. He then advised the public to strictly adhere to all Covid-19 guidelines.

In this consultation meeting, the City Health Officer Dr Raja, Northern Zone Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj, Regional Health Officer Ramachandran, Corporation officials, Residents Union Administrators and the public were present.
