3 arrested for burglary in Pollachi: Gold jewelry worth about Rs 3 lakh seized
Coimbatore: In Pollachi and surrounding areas, women walking alone women in two-wheelers have been robbed of their jewellery in several incidents. Following a complaint lodged by the victims, the East Police Station investigated to identify the culprits. When the police were engaged in a vehicle search near Theppakulam yesterday, the three suspects who came through were stopped and interrogated. They answered to the interrogation with contradictory answers.
Further investigation revealed that robbed gold jewelry worth Rs 3 lakh 20 thousand which was later confiscated. Police arrested three persons, including Muthusamy (25), Prakash (22) and Sankaraparani (37) from Pollachi in the Thoothukudi district, and it was revealed that they were involved in various hijackings and thefts. Following this, the police registered a case against them, produced them in court and lodged them in the Coimbatore Central Jail.
