Johnson a former health inspector in Valparai municipality commits suicide in Vellore

Vellore police are now investigating the case of Johnson, a former health inspector who worked at the Valparai municipality as he commited suicide at a private lodging facility in Vellore.


Coimbatore: Vellore police are now investigating the case of Johnson, a former health inspector who worked at the Valparai municipality as he commited suicide at a private lodging facility in Vellore.

Johnson, who was working as a health inspector in Valparai municipality in Coimbatore district last year, has committed suicide at a private hostel in Vellore. The area is being investigated by the Vellore police.

Valparai Municipality Commissioner Pavunraj was charged for violating government rules to divert Rs 15.62 funds from the municipality. Pavunraj was suspended and a criminal charge was filed against him and a further investigation is being conducted by the Coimbatore Police Department Officials.

Meanwhile, Pollachi Municipality Commissioner Gandhi Kumar is now handling the added responsibility of the municipality of Valparai. Also Valparai Health Inspector Johnson was recently transferred to the Pollachi municipality and was working from there.

Valparai Municipal Zonal Administration Director Saravanakumar is conducting an audit at the Valparai Municipal Office. Johnson's job has been transferred as the job of health inspector was important during the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, Johnson's relatives were on the search for him as he was missing for a week and had his phone in a switched off mode.

Meanwhile, the family members received a call from the Vellore police officials who found Johnson's corpse in Vellore and are now investigating the reason behind this suicide.
