The Kerala Police has been beefing up surveillance in the border areas, denying vehicles permission for vehicles from Tamil Nadu to enter Kerala due to a spike in Covid-19 cases.

The Malakkappara hill town on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border is abuzz with police conducting vehicle checks in the area. Owing to the spike in Covid-19 cases across the nation with every passing day, the Tamil Nadu and Kerala Police have set up new check posts in the border area. Vehicles from Tamil Nadu are being denied permission to cross the check post to enter Kerala which has made it impossible for residents of Valparai to enter the Malukkupparai area.
