A total of 662 people are isolated at their homes in Coimbatore

In 493 streets in Coimbatore, the people are home quarantining.


Coimbatore: Around 662 people are isolated in 493 streets in Coimbatore.

According to sources from a corporation official, "In the Coimbatore corporation area alone, there are 662 people affected by Covid-19 in their homes who have been isolated. In addition, an average of 4,500 Covid-19 tests is performed daily on behalf of the Corporation. This prevents the spread of Covid-19 infection to others by identifying and isolating them."

He added, "If more than 3 people in a street are affected, we are isolating that street. There are a total of 7,569 streets in Coimbatore. Of these, more than 3 houses in 493 streets have Covid-19 cases.

And in 1,604 streets there are less than 3 Covid cases per street. So far 52,258 people have turned positive for Covid-19 in Coimbatore. Of these, 43,160 have fully recovered. 476 people have died from the disease."

Corporation officials have also collected a total fine of Rs 51,600 from violators yesterday.

"We are continuing to intensify the preventive measures," the official added.
