Coimbatore: Veterinarian lodges complaint at Coimbatore East All Women's police station against husband and in laws for dowry harassment and abuse

A veterinarian from Ganapathy in Coimbatore lodged a complaint against her husband at the Coimbatore East All Women's Police Station for dowry harassment, adultery and abuse.

The veterinarian complained saying, "For my marriage, my parents gave me a dowry of 100 sovereign worth of gold jewellery and Rs. 20 lakh as cash. Within four days of my marriage, I realised that my husband was an alcoholic addict and that was also in a relationship with another woman. When I asked him about it, my husband and his family vulgarly abused me. They have pledged all my jewellery and refuse to return it. Meanwhile, they are also harassing me physically and mentally. Therefore, appropriate action should be taken against my husband and his family."

The Coimbatore East All Women's Police Station are investigating five people, including the veterinarian's husband and his family based on the complaint.
