Lockdown in UAE for 10 days from April 24; Only cargo allowed on Coimbatore-Sharjah flight


Coimbatore: A 10-day lockdown is to be implemented in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from tomorrow. As a result, passengers are not allowed on flights from Coimbatore to Sharjah, which was operational five days a week but cargo will be loaded.

According to airport sources, "A complete lockdown is being imposed in UAE for 10 days from April 24 to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection. An announcement was made today regarding the movement of planes. Passengers are not allowed to board the flight from Coimbatore to Sharjah, but cargo will be loaded as usual.

On the other hand, only passengers from Sharjah will be allowed to fly to Coimbatore. The procedure will continue until May 3. After that, whether the airline will operate as usual will be known only after a Government announcement again," they added.
