Two income tax officials in Coimbatore test Covid-19 positive; Office shut down


Coimbatore: Two employees at the Regional Office of Income Tax in Race Course were tested positive for COVID-19 after which the office was completely disinfected and locked.

On the eighth floor of the Income Tax office, two people were reportedly Covid-19 positive after which all the staff on duty were made to undergo Coviid tests but no one else tested positive. Everyone who entered the Income Tax office had been allowed entry only after sanitising their hands and having their body temperature checked.

Those who did not wear masks were not allowed entry and strict social distancing was being systematically observed. District authorities are still ascertaining the source of Covid infection in the two employees who have tested Covid-19 positive.
