Charge memo issued against government driver who went for his father's death: Transport staff dissatisfied with authorities

The transport corporation has sent a complaint and a charge memo has been issued, department action is being taken.

Coimbatore: A government bus driver has been issued with charge memoby the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Coimbatore) Ltd. Act. since he went to attend his father's funeral during working hours. This has caused dissatisfaction among transport workers.

LPF Union General Secretary Periyasamy said, "Sureshkumar works as a driver at the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Coimbatore) Ltd., Coimbatore Zone, Headquarters Branch. When he left for work on the morning of February 12, it was reported that his father's health in Valparai was deteriorating. He informed the admin and left for Valparai. On the way, Sureshkumar's father Nataraj died at Waterfall estate due to ill health."

"The driver then informed this to the branch. But the transport corporation has sent a complaint and a charge memo has been issued and department action is being taken. Is such action justified in the event of the death of the worker's father?" he questioned.

Periyasamy also said, "There is a growing sense of hatred among workers against transport officials. The Coimbatore administration should take appropriate action against those who acted inhumanely. It is painful that such anti-labour activities continue to happen in the transport corporation."
