Coimbatore Slum Clearance Board office shut for three days after seven of its employees were confirmed as infected with Covid-19


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Slum Clearance Board office has been shut down for three days after seven of its employees were confirmed to have been infected with Covid-19.

The district administration is beefing up its efforts to prevent the spread of Covid in Coimbatore. Those who have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 infection are being immediately admitted to hospitals. In the event of inmates of one house being infected, the Corporation affixes a sticker denoting that it is a house in isolation, and if people in three houses are infected on the same street, the street will be barricaded.

Seven of the staff working at the Slum Clearance Board office in Coimbatore who have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 infection are being treated at different hospitals. When the information about the spread of the infection was brought to the notice of the Corporation, the Health Department officials went in person to further enquire with the seven employees.

Mucus samples were collected from 30 workers who work in the office and disinfectant was sprayed throughout the office premises. Employees were instructed not to attend work for three days since the office was being shut down to prevent further infection.
