DMK Environment Wing Secretary Karthikeya Sivasenapathy pledges to fulfill Actor Vivekh's dream of planting 1 crore trees

With the support of fellow environmentalists, activists and others who travelled with him so far, the DMK Thondamuthur candidate pledged to complete this noble work.

Coimbatore: DMK Environment Wing Secretary Karthikeya Sivasenapathy today announced that along with this team, he will fulfill the late Actor Vivekh's dream to plant 1 crore trees.

In a press release issued by DMK's Environmental team Secretary and Thondamuthur Constituency candidate Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, he had mentioned, "The demise of Padma Shri Vivekh, the best comedian and character actor who has acted in over a hundred films by making people laugh and think through his comedy, is saddening to all of us. His humour has raised awareness in many ways about the unscientific ideas that existed among the people. Due to this, Kalaingar used to call him " Chinna Kalaivanar."

"At the same time, he has been a good friend of mine personally. Beyond being an actor, he has joined me in many environmental initiatives. He is a special person who raised awareness among the youths to plant trees and save the environment. In that sense, the late actor Vivekh had set his goal of planting 1 crore trees. He has shown that he has done a great job by planting 37 lakh saplings. He had a keen interest in environmental benefit and was deeply involved in working towards it," Karthikeya Sivasenapathy said.

He expressed his grief over the demise of the actor. Adding, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy said, "The real gratitude to show him is by fulfilling his goal. Therefore, we have decided that efforts can be made on behalf of DMK's Environment Wing to plant the remaining number of saplings."

With the support of fellow environmentalists, activists and others who travelled with him so far, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy pledged to complete this noble work.
