Training session for forest officials to control forest fire conducted near Anamalai Tiger Reserve

Fire combat dresses and footwears were given to the forest officials.


Tirupur: There are 4 forest zones namely Udumalai, Amaravathi, Kozhumam and Vandharavu near the Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Tirupur district.

Forest fire usually occurs during summer and the forest officials have taken an effort to control it this year.



Since they cannot be put out using bare hands and it is difficult for Fire and Rescue Department officials to reach an area in the forest, new equipment which can be used to out out the fire are now added to the team.



A training camp was organised today by the forest officials on how to use these types of equipment. During the training, fire combat dresses and footwears were provided to the forest officials.

Anamalai Tiger Reserve Assistant Director Ganesh Ram, Udumalaipet Forest Ranger Dhanabalan, Amaravathi Ranger Suresh, Kozhumam Ranger Mrs Mahesh and Vandharavu Ranger Murugesan took part in the training session.
