Kovai Kutralam closed for public viewing to curb COVID-19 spread; Tourists disappointed
Coimbatore: Kovai Kutralam which attracts a huge number of tourists to Coimbatore right through the year, has once again been closed for public owing to the widespread impact of COVID-19 across the nation.
With tourists thronging the Falls during holidays and weekends from various states, in strict compliance to COVID-19 safety measures, only 50 percent of tourists were allowed to visit the Falls since the previous lockdown. The Forest Department officials allowed entry into the Falls area for only 1000 people on a dialy basis.
But with the Tamil Nadu government's recent announcement of new stringent restrictions in view of the spike in COVID-19 cases, the Forest Department also announced that Kovai Kutralam Falls will be closed from Tuesday, without notice.
