3 men were arrested for issuing death threats to Sub Inspector in Sirumugai near Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Three men have been arrested for issuing death threats to a Sub Inspector in Sirumugai near Coimbatore.
Sub Inspector Munusamy and other policemen who were on duty at the Sirumugai police station on Monday evening responded to a call for help regarding a man, Mayilsamy, who was reportedly hurt when the bark of a coconut tree in his garden near Pokalur had fallen on him.
Even as Sub Inspector Munusamy and other policemen rushed to Pokalur around 6.30 pm on Monday, four men in two-wheelers were found speeding towards Ramananthottam on Sirumugai-Neelipalayam road. The policemen immediately stopped the two vehicles and conducted a search. The men were found to be inebriated and began verbally abusing and issuing death threats to Sub Inspector Munusamy.
Based on the complaint lodged by Sub Inspector Munuswamy, Police Inspector Thavamani registered a case and arrested the three men who have been identified as Santosh (26), Rangasamy (31) and Nandakumar (31) residing in Vadavalli, Pokalur. The police are still looking for Suresh (28) who reportedly escaped.
