'Voting machines cannot be tampered with:' Chief Electoral Officer, Satyabrata Sahoo

Chief Electoral Officer, Satyabrata Sahoo reiterates that electronic voting machines cannot be hacked into.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer, Satyabrata Sahoo while addressing the media on Monday explained that voting machines cannot be hacked into by anyone. "The electronic voting machines are like calculators and cannot be tampered with," said the CEO.

"Counting of votes will begin at 8.30 am on May 2. The postal votes will be counted first. Since the counting of votes will take place on a Sunday, a decision will be made on what to do with regard to the curfew imposed. The voting machines are kept secured with tight police security and thus far we have had no issues. If there is any complaint lodged in this regard, action will definitely be taken," he assured.
