Ramprabhu hails from Tiruppur - Chamundipuram area. Various cases are pending against him and he was recently sent to prison under the Goonda Act and was released from prison a few days ago.
In this situation, while walking in the Chamundipuram area at 10 am on 14th April, two mysterious persons in a two wheeler stabbed Ramprabhu and he fell down unconscious.
The 15 Velampalayam police officials arrived at the scene and rescued Ramprabhu and sent him to a government hospital. From there they were sent to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment.
Police have arrested two Tamilselvan and Suresh in connection with the incident. Police said the assassination attempt may have been premeditated. CCTV footage of the assassination attempt has caused a stir on social media.
