Over 500 people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Pollachi

The vaccination drive against COVID-19 for people over 45 years of age has been expedited at Government Hospitals and Primary Health Centres.



Coimbatore: With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Pollachi and its surrounding areas, the Revenue Department, Health department and other department officials are implementing stringent safety measures to control the outbreak.

Currently, the vaccination drive against COVID-19 for people over 45 has been expedited at all Government Hospitals and Primary Health Centres.



Health Department officials organised a separate COVID-19 vaccination camp to vaccinate private bus drivers, auto drivers, conductors, truck drivers and others. The camp which took place at a private wedding hall was thronged by over 500 people queuing for their vaccination shots.

Pollachi Sub Collector Vaidhiyanathan said that officials are continuously taking steps to vaccinate labourers at vegetable markets and employees of private companies too.
