Fellow policemen raise funds for families of two policemen who lost their lives in an accident
Coimbatore: Policemen raised funds to provide financial assistance to the families of two policemen who were killed in an accident in Coimbatore.
Maruthupandian, a policeman from Madurai district who was working in the Thiruvanmayur traffic division in Chennai joined service in 2010 but tragically died in a car accident, a few days ago. Following this, police officials from his 2010 service batch who are currently working across the state, including Coimbatore jointly raised Rs.12 lakhs.
Similarly, Varadarajan, a police constable working as a constable in the Mopanai division of Salem City Police also died in an accident a few days ago. His fellow policemen generously donated Rs.11,28,000 to the deceased policeman's family in Sukkampatti, Salem. Higher officials lauded the generous gesture on the part of colleagues of the deceased policemen.
