Udayakumar appointed as new Chairman of the Coimbatore Corporation Contractors Association (CCCA) for the period 2021-2024
Coimbatore: Udayakumar has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Coimbatore Corporation Contractors Association (CCCA) for the period 2021-2024. The event was held at the Taj Hotel in Race Course, Coimbatore on Thursday. The CCCA was formed 26 years ago.
The new cabinet members include Udayakumar, President,Secretary KCB Chandraprakash, Treasurer Ammavasaiyappan, Vice President Rajagopal, Michael, Deputy Secretary and Selvaraj as Deputy Secretary. The executive board comprises of Thomas, Sundaram, Selvaraj, Balamurugan, Mohana Sundaram, Ilango, Sasikumar, Guruvayoorappan, Senthil Prabhu, Karthik and Manoj Kumar.
Aalayam NGO President, Engineer Chandrasekhar was the special guest for the event along with popular debate speaker Raja.
The Secretary of the Association, KCP Chandraprakash said, "There is healthy competition between contractors. Strong and prosperous contract companies have developed over the last 10 years. The industry was troubled by the implementation of the GST. By advising Coimbatore contractors in a timely manner, we are preventing the loss of upto Rs. 30 crore by building the DTS.
Penalties were filed by the City Corporation for late work by contractors, but not 1 percent bonus was given for work completed in advance. A lawsuit was filed against this and it was settled. The Government will be recommended to increase the limit on the value of a contractor's work. Our government will be urged to make a profit of 10 percent for contractors on the Schedule of Rate," he added.
KCP Chandraprakash also added that the contractors were given career development training and guidance. "Coimbatore Corporation conducted a free eye and dental camp for students and yoga training was also done for members of the Association. Problems related to GST, PF and ESI were resolved.
The Association provided financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh for flood relief in Chennai, Rs. 20 lakh for flood relief in Kerala, Rs.12.59 lakh for flood relief in Gaja and Rs. 10 lakh for COVID-19 damage. A report was filed on behalf of the Association stating that group insurance of Rs.10 lakhs had been provided to the members of the Association," he further added.
