Coimbatore: A worker's house near Kovilpalayam was broken into and robbed. Almost 7 sovereigns of jewellery were looted yesterday. The Kovilpalayam police are currently investigating the case.
Paramasivam (65), is a laborer from Vellanaipatti near Kovilpalayam in Coimbatore. He is a construction labourer, who was building a new house in the area.
Yesterday, Paramasivam locked his house and went to the newly built house. Meanwhile, unidentified people broke into the front door of his house and entered his room. They have looted 7 sovereigns of gold jewellery, including a chain, ring and gold coin.
Returning home in the evening, Paramasivam was shocked to find that the doors of the house had been broken and that the jewellery in the safe wasgone.
Kovilpalayam police were informed about this incident. Police immediately rushed to the scene and conducted an investigation. Fingerprint experts were also called to the scene.
