Railway administration has announced that train compartments in Coimbatore will be converted into coronavirus treatment wards
Coimbatore: The second wave of COVID-19 infection has emerged in Tamil Nadu and is much worse than last year. The Tamil Nadu government has informed the High Court that the second wave of coronavirus damage has now gone out of hands.
As it continues to spread rapidly in the Coimbatore district, the district administration has set up more bed facilities in areas including the Coimbatore Government Hospital, ESI Hospital and the privately-owned CODISSIA Complex, Bharathiar University and Anna University.
Apart from this, the railway administration has announced that arrangements will be made soon to convert the train coaches at the Coimbatore Railway Station into coronavirus treatment wards. The district administration has also imposed some restrictions on the public.
Mandatory wearing of face masks, to avoid spitting in public places, 2-meter social distancing is also advised. Coimbatore Corporation said violation of these rules will result in fines of Rs 200 and Rs 500. The corporation administration has been announcing through loudspeakers that the public should be vigilant and comply with rules to create awareness.
