Coimbatore district has 42,900 doses of vaccine in stock: Principal Secretary to Government
Coimbatore: N Muruganandam, Principal Secretary to Government announced at the consultative meeting on Corona infection prevention measures that 42,900 doses of vaccine have been stocked for administering to the public.
He stated that "9,80,903 people had been tested for Coronavirus in Coimbatore district thus far. Of these, 63,903 have been confirmed to be infected. 58,860 of them have recovered. 699 people have died. Currently, 2,397 people are being treated for the Coronavirus infection in both Government and various private hospitals. So far, 2,64,502 people have been vaccinated. In the district, 42,900 doses of vaccine are in stock," he added.
"Everyone over the age of 45 should be vaccinated. Currently, 500 to 600 people a day are being infected. Factories should operate following the standard guidelines of the Government and strict action will be taken against non-compliant companies," warned N Muruganandam.
