Both the girlfriend and the man were found dead. Police officials have begun their investigation about the case.
The Nilgiris: Amudha (43) is from the Gundada area in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris. She was reported missing on 5th April at the Kotagiri Police Station by her family members.
Following this, a team of police officials under inspector Velmurugan conducted a search and in their investigation, it was revealed that Amudha was having an extra marital relationship with her sister's husband Pushparaj.
Pushparaj is said to have leased a 2-acre tea estate near Tirchikadi near Kotagiri. Allegedly, Amudha and Pushparaj used to spend some time in the estate.
Ever since Amudha said to Pushparaj that she is going to get married to her cousin, this created friction between the couple. Both of them went to the tea estate as usual on April 5th, but soon they got into a quarrel. Acting on it, Pushparaj attacked Amudha and killed her. He then hanged Amudha's body on a tree in an attempt to make it look like suicide.
That is when Amudha's family members filed a complaint at the police station about her missing. Upon this information, police officials went to Pushparaj's place to investigate him.
When they reached Pushparaj's place, police officials found his body hanging from the ceiling. He had committed sucide in the fear of being caught.
In further investigations, officials discovered that Amudha's phone had the signal coming from the estate leased by Amudha.
On arriving at the scene, cops found Amudha's body in a decayed stage hanging on the tree. Police officials then recovered Amudha's body and have sent it to the Kotagiri Government Hospital for autopsy.
