Indian Bank's Workers Association urges government to stop privatization of public sector banks

Coimbatore: On behalf of the Indian Bank's Workers Association, the 18th Tamil State Conference took place in Coimbatore for 2 days. State President S Aari Rao headed this event and the welcome address was given by MP PR Natrajan. Indian Bank's Workers Association General Secretary Debasish Basu Choudhary, kick-started the conference with his address.



Indian Bank's Workers Association Tamil Nadu General Secretary N Rajagopal, CITU State secretary S Krishnamoorthy, Indian Bank's Workers Association General Secretary Ranjan Raj, Allahabad Bank Workers Union President Sanjay Kumar addressed the gathering during the event.

Also, the Honorary President of Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Artists Association S Tamilselvan delivered an address on culture, education and school.

K Krishnan nominated the state's resolutions and various statements were made including security assurance for the public's saving account. "Central Government must quickly stop the privatization of public sector banks, protests to be conducted against the privatization, filling all vacant positions across banks, permanent jobs must be given to the 5,000 temporary workers, equal rights of pay and bonus, promotion for people in the roles of writers and others, permanent roles for sanitation workers, canteen workers and other temporary workers," he urged the government.

During the conference, the new cabinet for the Indian Bank's Workers Association was elected. Sunil Kumar was appointed as President of Tamil Nadu, Indian Bank's Workers Association, Ramesh Kumar as General Secretary and Arumugam as the Treasurer.
